Module Manager 1.0
Module Manager 1.0
Greetings, Sqyre Community!
Lauguz here, and today I’m thrilled to share with you the launch of Module Manager in Sqyre. After spending thousands of hours on Roll20 over the past decade, transitioning to Foundry was a journey for me. However, now that I’ve fully embraced Foundry, I can’t get enough of it, and modules play a pivotal role in my newfound enthusiasm. Modules empower Game Masters to tailor their Foundry experience to suit their preferences and the specific systems they’re running. With each dive into the realm of modules, I discover new ways to enhance my games, and I’m constantly impressed with the creative ways GMs are using modules to fully utilize the VTT play space. To access Module Manager, go to your Sqyre game detail page, click MANAGE GAME in the top right, then click Manage Modules.
Key Features of the Module Manager:
- A widget to search for and install any publicly available module by name
- The search results include premium and Patreon modules (you’ll need access for those)
- Install by manifest URL
- Sqyre automatically installs any dependencies for your modules (looking at you, settings-extender and lib-wrapper)
- Easy one-click install and uninstall for modules
Important Things to Keep in Mind:
- After installing Module Manager in Sqyre, you will still need to activate it and manage any module-specific settings in Foundry.
- Any modules you install will be available in all your Foundry games, but you need to activate them in each individual game.
- System-specific modules will only be available in games of that system (e.g., a 5E specific module won’t appear in a non-5E game).
User-Friendly Design Features:
- A storage tracker so you know how much of your Sqyre storage you’re using for modules and content.
- Clear listing of modules you already have installed.
- Clear indicators when a module is installing, and if its succeeded or failed.
- Icons to easily differentiate premium content from free.
As part of our open Beta, we’re committed to gathering feedback from our users, and we’d love to hear what you think about the Module Manager. For beta testers, we offer personalized support to address any needs or feedback directly. Whether you need help with modules, setting up your Foundry game, or simply want to share your experiences, don’t hesitate to ping us on Discord.
Happy gaming!
